MARIYEH'S
STORY
Mariyeh Ghelichkhani’s journey into the world of design and jewellery making has deep roots in her father’s profound legacy as a sought after jeweller and pioneer in the creation of high end bespoke silver artefacts.
Growing up surrounded by beautiful and exotic objects, she developed an early appreciation for the artistry and skills involved in the craft of jewellery making. Her father's renowned showroom in Tehran, and exceptional craftsmanship, contributed greatly to her understanding of jewellery, silver and the world of art.
Though drawn to follow in her father’s footsteps, Mariyeh’s life path, led her to various places and countries. Based in Dubai, she has also lived in Istanbul, London, Spain and Portugal; in each place immersing herself in the diversity of the cultures and arts she discovered there.
“The loss of my father served as a pivotal moment, prompting me to reconnect with my passion for jewellery– to keep him close to me.”
Mariyeh began to sketch her ideas on paper, and eventually returned to the workshop where she honed her skills and rekindled her childhood fascination with the colourful world of gems and the creation of jewellery.
Mariyeh’s story reflects a voyage of rediscovery and emphasises the importance of following one's passions and honouring one's family heritage.
